A report will be presented on Monday, which clearly states that the cause of the Smolensk drama was an act of unlawful interference, consisting in the destruction of the plane with an explosion – said Antoni Macierewicz, chairman of the Smolensk subcommittee on Sunday in PR24.

“There will be a fundamental change in Poland after the publication of the report and the position that the state will take when taking international legal actions related to the Smolensk crime,” he added.

When asked who and when interfered with the aircraft, Macierewicz said that in 2008 it was decided that both TU-154 aircraft would be renovated by a company associated with Oleg Deripaska – Putin’s friend; from that moment – as he said – the Russian services controlled every activity related to President Lech Kaczyński’s visit to Smolensk.

On April 10, 2010, in the crash of the Tu-154 plane, which was used by a delegation to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Katyn massacre, 96 people died, including President Lech Kaczyński and his wife Maria, the highest military commanders and the last president of the Republic of Poland in exile, Ryszard Kaczorowski.
