Shane Warne is a famous figure in the Australian cricket world. In the 90s and at the turn of the century, he was the star of the sport himself and is now a commentator and cricket coach in England. Shane was vaccinated with a double dose of Pfeizer in early July 2021 and was a high-profile vaccine advocate.

Despite vaccinations, Shane was diagnosed with COVID-19 (8/2/21) and is currently in solitary confinement. His illness after vaccination caused a small earthquake among those who began to regard vaccination as “a moral obligation of all people of good will” and a symbol of high moral standards.

It should not be a shock, however, because vaccination against viral viruses does not provide 100% immunity against infection and is only intended to alleviate disease symptoms. The same was true of flu vaccines. In addition, viral vaccines do not provide protection for life, but only for the period determined by our immune system.

Moreover, all those who have called for the social isolation of so-called “anti-vaccination cranks” must also be clear that vaccination does not guarantee an end to virus spread and infecting others.

Most importantly, this case of a celebrity falling ill should make it clear to our politicians that restrictions and lockdowns are not able to eliminate SARS-CoV-2 from our lives, and therefore we should return to the state from before the pandemic hysteria, because this hysteria does not serve the public good at all.
