Since there is a visible trend among Israel supporters to go back in time (October 7th) to justify what happened in Gaza and the war in Iran, I propose to go back even further and consider the following events:

1. 06-12-19441944 – Assassination of Walter Guinness, 1st Baron Moyne, British Minister Resident in the Middle East in Cairo.

2. 22-07-1946 – King David Hotel bombing – Irgun planted bombs in the southern wing of the King David Hotel in Jerusalem, which housed the British administrative and military headquarters. The explosion killed 91 people (28 Britons, 41 Arabs, 17 Jews, and 5 others) and injured dozens more.
3. 01-03-1947 – Attack on British Officers’ Club (Goldschmidt House), Jerusalem – Irgun bombed and attacked the club, killing 17–20 British military and intelligence officers.

4. 20-07-1947: The Sergeants Affair – In retaliation for the death sentences of three Irgun members, Irgun kidnapped British Army sergeants Clifford Martin and Mervyn Paice in Netanya. After the Irgun men were executed, the sergeants were hanged in a eucalyptus grove, and their bodies were booby-trapped. This incident caused widespread outrage in Britain and accelerated the push to withdraw.

5. Bombings of British police stations, Criminal Investigation Department (CID) offices, and immigration buildings in cities like Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, and Haifa (e.g., 1944 attacks on multiple sites).

6. Sabotage of railways, oil refineries (such as the Haifa refinery fire in March 1947), and army installations.

7. Ambushes, shootings, and kidnappings of British soldiers and police, including attacks on cafes, beaches, and patrols.

As can be seen from the above list, Israel has inaugurated and set examples for the entire Middle East on how to assert one’s position through terror.
